The Red Berry Estate reopened its doors in 2020—much to my delight and, I would presume, the delight of a lot of couples who will soon be making wedding plans. What’s not to be delighted about? There’s history, scandal, a mansion, a lakeside pavilion, boats, and all within minutes from downtown San Antonio. It’s a perfect location (and a perfect combination) for a wedding venue if you ask me! Most importantly, here’s some San Antonio wedding inspiration for your viewing pleasure.
Extra perks also include an extremely romantic bridal suite, a very masculine groom’s den, a three-level mansion that provides an elevated view of the 12-acre lake, two ballrooms—one light and bright, the other dark and moody, a perfectly-embellished casino with all the opulence of the 1950s, beautiful terraces, and a perfectly-manicured lawn that will never brown (even in the south Texas heat because it’s a synthetic turf). The newest addition—the 5,000 sq. ft. lakeside pavilion ballroom—is so perfectly paired, you would never know that it was not an original part of Red Berry’s gambling operation. Literally, everything you need to plan for the most amazing night of your life. And what isn’t already physically at The Red Berry Estate, The RK Group has you covered.
San Antonio Wedding Inspiration: Red Berry Estate
Last year in October, I was on a team of wedding vendors that was one of the very first few to get in and not only set eyes on the impeccably-restored mansion but to get in and work. Grace, with Graceful Moments Weddings, assembled a full team of wedding professionals to complete two different looks on the same day. It was daring—completely daring, but we did it! (If you want to see the first part of this Red Berry shoot, you’ll have to click here.)
This French Chateau style mansion, The Red Berry Estate, will deliver the best of Texas charm and hospitality for a diverse spectrum of weddings.
I have taken the liberty to proclaim this staircase as the “Sexiest Staircase in all of San Antonio.” The cheetah-patterned carpet accented with gold and marble is was does it for me. Do you agree?
The bridal suite has a certain calming effect about it. I don’t know if it’s the likeness of water painting on the walls, the soft light that cascades through the windows, or the very utopian furniture and decor in the room. Whatever it is, it’s working. Any bride getting ready in this suite will appreciate it. This is A+ San Antonio wedding inspiration.
There are venues that have to “work” at providing an experience for their couples… The Red Berry Estate is not that. It is as if all of the ambiance and history of the mansion magically envelops you from the feet up as soon as you enter. You need to get in and tour the Red Berry Estate for yourself. This is a gorgeous gem you can’t miss if you’re in the San Antonio wedding market.

About Ata-Girl
I am a San Antonio-based wedding photographer and I cater to outdoor-loving couples who prefer to have all the realness captured on their wedding days. I am the wedding photographer for the outdoor adventurers, the romantics, the laid back, the snugglers, and those who wish to capture all their realness.
I am absolutely in love with capturing the kinds of weddings where there are more hugs than handshakes, the dance floor rumbles all night long, and chairs are pretty much rendered useless after dinner. Whiskey bottles are passed around, most of the wedding party has been best-best friends since kindergarten, Grams is likely to lose her shoes and your partner is much more emotional than you are. These kinds of weddings are my jam!
You can always call or text, but if you really want to get to know me, schedule a meetup!
I started Ata-Girl Photography Co., LLC in 2010. I firmly believe that the unique set of circumstances I have faced in life has prepared me to take a personal and genuine interest in my photography clients. I enjoy documenting the important milestones and captivating moments in people’s lives. I love being a part of people’s journeys and consider myself privileged to document their legacies.

When I’m not behind my camera, you can find me hiking, cycling, backpacking, camping, enjoying water sports, listening to music (Elvis and Prince), hunting for arrowheads, reading audiobooks, occasionally eating a few glazed donuts (my only weakness to sweets) and then re-starting my keto diet about every 10 days. The most important things in life are for me to see my two daughters happy and to create a family history my grandparents and grandson would be proud of.
