If you’re looking for a venue that feels as if you are miles away from the city but close enough to get there by taking only a short drive, then Don Strange’s River Rock Event Center is what you’re looking for. This Tuscan-styled villa venue is nestled right in Fair Oaks Ranch—only 11 miles from the La Cantera/Rim area.
The venue is beautiful! It features limestone walls, triple massive silos, solid oak doors and chandelier lighting. Also, they just added on a wine room! One of my personal favorite things about this Texas hill country venue is that it wasn’t built to be a venue. This venue once served as part of an actual, authentic Texas ranch operation. There’s deep history here.
Don Strange’s River Rock Event Center
There are options for indoor and outdoor ceremonies for up to 250 guests. One of the unique things about the River Rock Event Center is that you don’t have to rent the entire venue for your wedding or event. You can literally piecemeal the venue together for your custom needs. You can choose from three different areas of the venue or rent the entire venue and add on a ceremony site (options to choose from) AND the guest house.
Your rental includes up to 20 60″ round tables and 200 white, wooden chairs.
And as added bonus (as if the River Rock Event Center needed a bonus!), Don Strange of Texas is the exclusive caterer and bar service. For more than 60 years, Don Strange has been delivering the best in San Antonio catering services. Their reputation precedes them. Their passionate chefs can create exquisite food and drink and serve anything from classic, comfort meals to bespoke, multi-course meals.

I started Ata-Girl Photography Co., LLC in 2010. I firmly believe that the unique set of circumstances I have faced in life has prepared me to take a personal and genuine interest in my photography clients. I enjoy documenting the important milestones and captivating moments in people’s lives. I love being a part of people’s journey and consider myself privileged to document their legacies.
When I’m not photographing a wedding, family or high school senior, I love to spend my spare time hiking, camping, cycling, reading, listening to Elvis and Prince. The most important things in life are for me to see my two daughters happy and to create a family history my grandparents and grandson would be proud of!
