I am honored to have been a part of another Badges and Bouquets wedding giveaway! I covered the rehearsal dinner for Maricarmen and Daniel at Strawberry Pines! Though I have taken part in Tina’s amazing wedding giveaway in the past, this year is especially important to me because the Badges and Bouquets recipients are both from Atascosa County—where my family has lived for well over 100 years and the county that my business name is part of!! I was delighted to hear that they won this giveaway and even more delighted to learn that I’d been invited to take part! Maricarmen is an officer with the Jourdanton PD and Daniel is a deputy with the Atascosa County Sheriff’s Department.
Maricarmen and Daniel, and the family and friends that I was fortunate to meet and have dinner with, were just charming! And the kids… oh my… they were full of energy! I tried to get some images of them playing with each other, but truthfully, I could barely keep up with them.
I’ve known Tina for a few years now, and I love this lady’s heart! She is a genuine person with a full heart. Producing an event like this… with this many volunteers and coordinating everything to flawlessly fall together without asking for anything in return takes a special person. Tina does this year after year after year and hasn’t indicated she is stopping any time soon.
Darlene and Woode Henry have put much backbone, sweat and tears into this venue. Its pine trees and rustic barn are just amazing! The country setting is serene and peaceful and the fact that the venue can accommodate about 30 overnight guests just gets me every time. The venue is ideal and practical and I love each time I get an opportunity to shoot here.
It was my first time meeting Carol Garner, of Moonstruck Weddings, and I’d like to give her a personal recommendation. I must say she isn’t your typical wedding officiant. I loved her energy, her zest and her no-nonsense attitude. PLUS, she seemed like a lot of fun to be around. I wished I had been able to witness the actual ceremony.
And although I’ve never actually met Joshua Michael or Mark Thomas, we do have a lot of professional friends in common. I’m dying over here waiting to see some of the images and video they captured of Maricarmen and Daniel standing on the venue’s pier in the dark with some Chinese lanterns floating across the water in the foreground. I’m sure the results are going to be epic!
