I would have never expected to find a relaxing, gorgeous, and romantic wedding venue in Poteet, Texas. Nor would have I expected one of my senior clients to ask to take senior portraits mostly submerged in water in the middle of April. Texas is hot, but water usually isn’t warm enough to swim in it by April. However, this is exactly what happened when Kloe asked to capture some pretty unique senior images during her third and final senior session. You can see her first and second sessions at these links.
We ended up at Strawberry Pines for the session. Honestly, I never ever thought that Poteet could be home to such a fabulous wedding venue. Woody and Darlene have done a fantastic job with the property’s renovation and decoration. The whole place has a real sense of “I’m home now.” Not only is Strawberry Pines a destination wedding venue, it is also available for family reunions, corporate events, meetings and retreats. The property contains three different homes. The rock house is perfect for the bride and her bridal party; the cabin has a game room that will easily entertain the groom and groomsmen. The ranch house features two master bedrooms which will comfortably accommodate both the bride and groom’s parents.
Kloe’s last session was filled with lots of happy. Even Kloe’s dogs and lamb got in on the action. We ran and laughed and played and splashed… well, she splashed. I think neither of us could believe this was how we were ending her senior sessions. I don’t think her mom could believe it either. It was definitely an epic session and one that I will always remember. This one is going in the Ata-Girl history books.

Until next time, be positive, happy, healthy, and don’t forget to be photographed.

When I’m not photographing a wedding, family or high school senior, I love to spend my spare time hiking, cycling, reading, listening to Elvis and Prince. The most important things in life are for me to see my two daughters happy and to create a family history my grandparents would be proud of!
