Girlfriendships are special!  From the time you start kindergarten, special bonds are formed.  For reasons unknown, you favor and gravitate toward certain people.  For three months, Andrea may be your best friend.  Then, Lilly invites you over and the two of you spend all night giggling.  Suddenly, Lilly is your new best friend.  Lilly moves away and your quest for a new girlfriendship begins!  Over the years, these girlfriendships change and evolve like ocean waves crashing on the shoreline.  In calmer waters, some waves fizzle and fade or reach the shore lacking such fanfare that they are hardly noticed.  Other waves reach high into the sky and then crash hard briefly disrupting the sand.

Girlfriendships are brought into your life for a purpose.  You will gain something valuable from each.  Each will have meaning and importance!  Even if you’re unaware, these girlfriendships help you tackle and survive life.  Girlfriendships are special gifts meant to provide trust, meaning, support, laughter, or sanity just when you need it.  These are like no other relationship you’ll experience.  Each is unique with its own set of benefits or challenges.  Every single girlfriendship that you will have in your life, no matter how brief or seemingly insignificant, will serve a purpose.  It will help you (or her) weather a specific obstacle or hardship.  Some will last a lifetime; some will be so brief that you can’t even recall.  But, all will be a blessing!
