I’ve been waiting a few weeks to publish this blog post.  But, now since the bride and groom have safely returned from their extended honeymoon in Italy, I will wait no more!

Mollie stood at the top of the escalator and looked out over baggage claim.  Just like the previous 20 trips she had taken for work, there stood Robert at the bottom of the escalator waiting for her.  The story was always the same.

Her flight would land and she’d eagerly make her way to the baggage claim. He’d drive 100 miles to pick her up and take her home.  The limo drivers were always there with signs that read “F. Wilson” or “Betty Jean.”  Each time, she’d joke, “I wish my name was on one of those signs!  Why is that no one is ever waiting with my name on their sign?”  They’d laugh and catch up during the two-hour ride home.

When Robert began planning his proposal, he knew he wanted it to be completely unique.  He scanned the Google™ results looking for inspiration, but didn’t find anything worthy of popping the question to her.  He had to get creative.

Although he had her dad’s approval since February, he waited until she left on a work trip again.  It was an agonizing nine months but he utilized the time well to plan the perfect proposal. She’d been gone for a month of grueling work.  As planned, he made 100-mile trek and anxiously waited near the baggage claim.  When he saw his beauty descend the airport escalator, he nervously held his first sign up.

“Mollie M.”

“I missed my best friend.”

“I love you to the moon and back.”

“Will you make me the happiest man alive?”

“Will you marry me?”

Her heart dropped and she blurted, “Yes!”

It’s stories like this that keep my faith alive for love.  I wish Mollie and Robert nothing but the absolute best as they begin their forever and the rest of their lives together.  I am blessed to have been a part of their lovely celebration and I am thankful that they selected me to preserve these memories.  The reception was over the top and I’m not just saying that because the band played an Elvis tune!  Here are a few of my favorite images from their most fabulous South Texas wedding reception.
