Miriam & Neto’s Garden Wedding
The idea of this “Pay it Forward” wedding all stemmed from one bride having to cancel her special day. Normally, this would be a very sad day. However, she was able […]
The sun sets almost directly over the main ceremony site, so a sunset ceremony is gorgeous. I would recommend being open to a first look to be able to plan your family formals prior to the ceremony to allow for that golden-hour ceremony. If you’re not open to this, a creative session for the bride and groom is equally as beautiful and any couple would be lucky to have these images hanging on their wall or included in their wedding album. There are lots of pretty spots along the crushed granite pathways and in the venue’s gardens. The added walkway lighting is a bonus. The family and their staff do an amazing job at keeping up with all the gardening and grooming!
Gardens at Old Town Helotes is a charming 6.5-acre rustic, garden wedding and event venue with an outdoor wooden dance floor and well-manicured lawns and flower gardens. The venue is located right in the heart of the historic town of Helotes.
Gardens at Old Town Helotes is a family-owned wedding and event venue and has been since 2009.
To secure your wedding date, a $500 retainer is required. It does go toward the balance of the rental rate and not in addition to it.
The base price of $2,700 includes access to the entire 6.5-acre property (perfect for many photo opportunities), a ceremony site with chairs and a decorated pergola (white sheer linens), a reception site, the indoor, climate-controlled event hall with a 200-person capacity, an outside cocktail/dinner/dance area with larger capacity, tables and chairs, a dressing cabin, a lapel microphone for the officiant, a sound system for background music, venue concierge, a koi pond, and a golf cart shuttle from the parking lot.
Ceremony, Cocktail & Reception Details
Ceremony options include four different areas, but couples usually choose the main option—the decorated pergola. The other options require a labor charge to move chairs.
Cocktail hour includes a few different options, but couples usually choose to use the main one—the around the outdoor wooden dance floor.
Receptions can either be inside the main hall where 200 is considered the maximum capacity. That way a rain plan is always available. Outside is also a possibility if more room is needed. The venue is situated on 6.5 acres so the option for a larger capacity is always available if needed.
There is a permanent outdoor, wooden arch and platform dedicated for weddings. My only caution would be to not have your ceremony time exactly during the golden hour or the last hour that the sun will be setting. If your photographer doesn’t have a fast-focusing camera and lenses, it will be difficult for them to achieve focus in this situation. You may end up with a lot of images taken from either side of the altar.
There is an outdoor cocktail area and dancefloor. This area can also be used for overflow for your dinner guests. The inside reception area is climate controlled and includes a small area for the groom or second partner to get ready.
