We visited the beautiful and historic Landa Library for Bethany’s San Antonio bridal session. Lauren (with two legs) and Tillie (with four legs), two of Lauren’s bridesmaids, and her mother accompanied us. We began the shoot just prior to sunrise to avoid the hot Texas temps of July. The sunrise peaked over the horizon at precisely 6:49 a.m. and we officially captured our first image at 6:59 a.m.
Since Tillie was such a huge part of Will and Bethany’s courting and engagement, and even participated in their engagement session, it made perfect sense to include her in the bridal session as well! Bethany even had a flowered-collar made especially for Tillie. We made sure to capture Tillie is some of her very own portraits to commemorate the event!
Bethany lost both of her precious grandmothers before she was able to marry—one just a few months before. To memorialize both grandmothers’ love and as a way to have to their presence close during her bridals and wedding day, Bethany wore their wedding bands on her right hand… a beautiful way to include them, I might add.
We ended this San Antonio bridal portrait session at 8:52 a.m. Two hours is pretty typical of a bridal portrait session. I’m sure that Bethany is super thankful she elected to wake up at 4:00 a.m. to complete this, rather than doing this in the warmer (much hotter) parts of the day. Even by the time we were wrapping up at 9:00 a.m., it was starting to get a little warm… and I wasn’t even the one wearing the four-pound, floor-length wedding dress.
