On May 11, I not only had the privilege of witnessing Amanda and Chase’s Texas hill country wedding, I also had an opportunity to second-shoot (actually third-shoot) for Philip Thomas. This event fulfilled one of the goals I had set for 2013: second shooting with an international wedding photographer. Philip is an amazing documentary-style photographer from England and also shoots weddings there, so he helped me complete this goal. (To be honest, when I wrote down that goal in early-January, I didn’t have a single clue how I would accomplish it. Thank you, Philip!)
Texas Hill Country Wedding
The wedding took place in the beautiful Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church and the reception followed at the McKenna Center in New Braunfels, Texas. Being that Amanda and Chase were not my clients, I didn’t get a chance to get to know them at all. However, I can say that they seemed like a very lively group of people. The reception seemed like a lot of fun… so much in fact, I was very tempted to join in on the Grand March. The deep, rich, blue sky adorned with white, animated and fluffy clouds were a wedding photographer’s dream and resulted in my favorite church images to date. The sky looked amazing against the 142-year-old church where this Texas hill country wedding took place. The event was stunning!
