Emily’s cotton field modeling session was THE BEST! I literally took one image of her in the cotton field with the sun setting behind her and knew I had captured something worth submitting to image competition. Of course, we took more… but I just couldn’t believe how beautiful this could be with my lens closed all the way down to F22. It was captivating!

Emily is a Floresville senior who answered a summer model call for me. I took one look at this dress… this gorgeous dress! and knew I must shoot Emily… with my camera. Her dress reminded me of someone’s China pattern… someone’s expensive China pattern. Emily helped me capture some images for competition and I think she did a fantastic job!

For the record, I only scored a 75 with her image (at least an 80 is the goal). I can’t seem to break the curse of the “average professional.” However, I do have an appointment later this week with my competition and printer master guru, Rocco Ancora. Hopefully, he will counsel me to help choose an image or two worthy of a merit that is “above average skill and technique in most areas.” I have some more from this same session that I think may work; we’ll see what he says.

Here are some of my favorites from Emily’s senior session in the cotton field. Please enjoy them! They are super late making it to the blog, but please don’t let that discount how incredibly beautiful Emily is!!

If you’d like to see all the images from this portrait session, please enjoy this video. For the best quality, be sure to change the video player settings to 1080 HD.
