I am beyond honored to have had the opportunity to participate in the third annual Badges & Bouquets wedding giveaway. There are many generous vendors that make up the whole dream wedding, but the woman behind the magic is Tina Humphrey of Diamonds and Dreams. She coordinates all the submissions, judges, and vendors and puts them in line to produce a stellar event for a deserving couple. Each vendor donates something towards the lucky winners’ wedding. It might be the cake, venue, band, or the dress. Everything… I repeat, everything gets donated to the lucky couple—one of which has to be a firefighter, EMT or policeman. This year, both the bride and groom were SAPD.  I donated the bridal session, a 24″x30″ gallery wrapped canvas and an Italian-made 8″x8″ bridal album.

For now this event is limited to residents of Bexar and all surrounding, contiguous counties (Atascosa, Kendall, Wilson, Guadalupe, Comal, Medina and Bandera); however, Tina is contemplating ways to open this up to a state-wide event! Submissions are accepted after January 1st, the winners are announced on February 14th, and the wedding is September 11th. That was this past Friday! And, since the wedding has happened, I can finally share these images from Gloria’s La Villita Historic Arts Village bridal session.

Gloria is a bike officer with the San Antonio Police Department. I got to meet some of Gloria’s co-workers as well as her Maid of Honor who gave us a nice, southern police escort. I felt safe!! 🙂

Until next time, be positive, happy, healthy, and don’t forget to be photographed.

I will try to list all the great vendors who helped put this event together, but please forgive me if I accidentally omit someone.

As a full-time professional photographer, my sole purpose is to provide amazing, memorable and full-service photography.

I started Ata-Girl Photography Co., LLC in 2010. I firmly believe that the unique set of circumstances I have faced in life has prepared me to take a personal and genuine interest in my photography clients. I enjoy documenting the important milestones and captivating moments in people’s lives. I love being a part of people’s journey and consider myself privileged to document their legacies.

When I’m not photographing a wedding, family or high school senior, I love to spend my spare time hiking, cycling, reading, listening to Elvis and Prince. The most important things in life are for me to see my two daughters happy and to create a family history my grandparents would be proud of!
