I had a lot of fun taking this Texas country boy’s senior pictures during his portrait session!  It’s not often that I get both mom AND dad to join me.  And, it’s not often that mom AND dad become the best reflector operators EVER!  I only had to explain one time… one time how to use the reflector to block light and bounce light and BAM! they were on it!

Chase is ALL boy.  His extracurricular activities are football (he’s the quarterback!), FFA Livestock Judging and show lambs, and theatre!  He super tall!  He’s 6′ 3″ and I’m pretty sure he grows just a bit after each time I see him.  (He has to actually bend at the waist to greet me.)  We started the session taking this Texas country boy’s senior pictures with Big Joe (one of his lambs).  Chase gave me a few quick lessons on lambs since I’ve never been around them much… no wait! AT ALL.  (Confession: Call me crazy, but I have a hard time telling a lamb from a sheep!)  Phantom 309, his other sheep, watched from the stalls.  I’m not sure, but he may have been in time-out for baahhing too much!  We ended at session at a barn.  The wood on the west side of this barn has been baked in the 100-degree afternoon sun for over 100 years and is sheer perfection!  Chase was brave enough to climb in the loft for a few shots!

Chase is the youngest of two boys.  It’s easy to see where Chase gets his happy-go-lucky attitude from.  Chase’s mom and dad both seemed to have rubbed off on him!  Chase is always full of life and never seems to have a bad day!  I don’t think I’ve ever even seen a hint of a frown on his face!  He’s full of jokes and I think he even likes Elvis which makes him super cool in my book!  He always takes pictures with a slightly curled lip… What other reason could it be than he likes Elvis?

Chase told me that he’s opting to forego the standard senior ring.  Instead, he has his heart set on a custom pocket knife.  He is thinking something with turquoise and pink, but just needs to find the perfect knife designer.  He has a few locals in mind, but hasn’t made a decision yet!

Here’s a few of my favorite images from Chase’s first of four mini senior sessions.  I can’t wait for the rest!
