How lucky am I that I got to be the photographer that took this family’s first portrait EVER!? One side of me is all giddy because I got to experience this “first time” with them. The other side is sad that they don’t have official family records showing how they have grown and matured over the years.
This special session was at the new family home and property just south of San Antonio. Morgan and Mary moved away about six years ago but moved back this past August… I hope for good. The growth in the oil industry made finding the new home a bit challenging, but they finally found this beautiful place.
When I arrived, Jenny gave me a grand tour so that I could scope out backdrops for the session. I must say she’s the finest golf cart driver ever! We started out shooting over the water in their backyard. Yes, backyard. Literally, 20 yards from their back door they have the most amazing tank (pond, for you Northerners). The reflections and ripples in the water created the best effect for some wide shots. We captured some images on top of the tank dam with the bluest skies in Texas in the background before ending the session with Noel—a calf Jessica and Jenny rescued on Christmas night. What a beautiful family!
I started Ata-Girl Photography Co. in 2010 and I am one of the premier San Antonio wedding photographers who is available for local and destination weddings. In addition to wedding photography, I also specialize in high school seniors and family portraits in San Antonio and the surrounding areas. I am a professional photographer who enjoys documenting the important milestones and captivating moments in people’s lives. I firmly believe that the unique set of circumstances I have faced in life has prepared me to take a personal and genuine interest in my photography clients. When I’m not photographing a wedding, family or high school senior, I enjoy watching my daughter play softball, hiking, cycling and listening to Elvis!
