My brother loves to move dirt. He’s been driving a dozer since he could barely see over the levers. He really, really loves to move dirt, so much in fact, when he and his wife, Shanna, discovered she was pregnant, they chose two names for the baby: Ashlynn or Scraper—girl or boy, they had it covered. The came up with Ashlynn from Ashland Industries—makers of earth movers or scrapers. A scraper is a specific piece of equipment used to move dirt that can either be driven or mounted behind a tractor. Secretly, I am glad they had a girl. 🙂 I’m not sure I can imagine referring to my nephew as Scraper!
Ashlynn entered the world on May 12, 2012 and already had three sisters and two brothers waiting for her. So, during her exclusive toddler photo shoot in November, we were there to document her six months on Earth. I know she’s taken a cross-Texas ride in her dad’s 18-wheeler, stood behind the wheel of his 1954 Ford F-100 and probably already been underneath the carriage of a John Deere Dozer, but this is just scratching the surface on the types of things she will do with her dad and mom.
Here are some images of this beautiful, little, south Texas-tough girl as she celebrates six months of life!
