I had the pleasure of documenting a precise time in life for this energetic family of Lanessa, Russ, Keith and Laney. I’ve known Lanessa since our early days in a south Texas high school, but won’t divulge either of our ages by saying when that was. I also won’t reveal a pretty gross memory from high school she has about me and recently shared with me. I will state, however, that I no longer place non-sterile, foreign objects on volleyballs in hopes of playing a great practical joke on someone. Although, I do still play practical jokes.
This family’s portrait session began with a text message from one of the brothers to my niece which read, “I’m getting ready for your aunt to snap some sexy model poses of me.” It ended with both of the brothers emulating a pose from a 2008 movie, Step Brothers, which isn’t so sexy! In the middle of the session, a young, beautiful mother and her three gorgeous kids laughed and joked and made memories in front of my camera.
