Here’s a story of a lovely lady who had two daughters. One day, she met a fabulous man who had none. They got married and had twin sons… who happen to look a lot alike… pretty much identical (at least to me) except for that scar above one eye that you can only see from short distances. They lived happily ever for the next 12 or 13 years in a small town that the fabulous man had grown up in. The beautiful daughters and the similar-looking sons attended the same school that the dad had attended. They walked the same halls, turned in papers to some of the same teachers, and became friends with some of the fabulous dad’s schoolmates’ children. Then one day, the fabulous man recevied a marvelous job offer—one which would require him to work away from the small town. It was a bitter sweet day.
The oldest of the beautiful daughters wanted to preserve some of the memories in a family portrait session. This would be a surprise Christmas present to the lovely lady and the fabulous dad. She scheduled the family session but specifically requested that some of the backdrops have special meaning… to document something special about the town so they could always remember Jourdanton and south Texas. So, we made stops at Dornak’s Cotton Weight Station and the city limit sign before heading out to a beautiful coastal field.
Good luck to all the beatiful, lovely, and fabulous people who start a new chapter in north-east Texas! You will always have a special place in our hearts! Please come back and visit!

When I’m not photographing a wedding, family or high school senior, I enjoy watching my daughter play softball, hiking, cycling and listening to Elvis!
